Most post houses charge in a broad range from one to several hundred dollars per hour for digital sound editing. Because of low overhead, my fees are considerably less than that. Because every show is different, I need to see your specific show in order to give you a reliable, fair quote that makes sense. One size simply does not fit all.

Nowadays, with budgets tighter than ever, I've found that most people prefer a flat rate, specially tailored to their show and budget. This way, people know up front exactly what it will cost, with no unpleasant surprises.

Just to give you an idea, over the last year, fully filled M&E projects (features and short films) have ranged from $750 to $5500 , depending on density, complexity of sound, and depth of fill required.

Estimating costs really boils down to calculating time spent, or how long it will take to do it, which seems to be the fairest approach for all concerned.

One way or another, I always find a way to work with people, because I am acutely aware of the budget constraints that are so prevalent today.
